I’m a Canadian book reviewer with a passion for fantasy, science fiction, and LGBTQ+ fiction. Through my blog, BookTok, Goodreads, Fable, and StoryGraph, I aim to connect readers with unforgettable stories while highlighting diverse voices in speculative fiction.

What You Can Expect

Every review reflects my honest opinion. Receiving a complimentary review copy does not guarantee a positive review.

Reviews may be shared on one or more of the following platforms:

  • WestCoast Books (Blog)
  • BookTok (@westcoastbooks)
  • Goodreads
  • Fable
  • StoryGraph

Selected books may also be featured in recommendation lists, wrap-ups, anticipated releases, themed reading videos, or other social media content.

Review Timeline

I aim to post reviews within 4–8 weeks of receiving a book whenever possible. For advance review copies, I will make every effort to publish my review before or around the book’s release date.

Please note that accepting a review copy does not guarantee a review by a specific date unless we have agreed upon one in advance.

Rating System

I use a five-star rating system based on my overall reading experience and how likely I am to revisit or recommend a book.

I believe a 3-star review is still a positive review. Not every good book will become a favourite, and my ratings reflect my personal reading experience rather than an objective measure of quality.

★★★★★ — An outstanding read that I would happily reread and enthusiastically recommend. These are the books that stay with me long after I’ve finished them.

★★★★☆ — A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to others, even though I probably wouldn’t revisit it.

★★★☆☆ — An enjoyable book with strengths, but one that didn’t fully resonate with me or had elements that kept it from becoming a favourite.

★★☆☆☆ — A book with significant issues that affected my enjoyment. While it may have had redeeming qualities, it ultimately wasn’t a good fit for me.

★☆☆☆☆ — A book that I did not enjoy and would not recommend based on my personal reading preferences.
